A Ducted Wind Powered Generator System
Priority date: 2026 January 15
Australian Provisional Patent: 2026900415
ABSTRACT
Ducted wind powered generator systems are also known as Ducted Wind Turbines (DWT) for harvesting energy from an internal fluid flow, utilising multi-element aerofoils, venturis, scoop concentrators, and vortices, with methods of orientation. Wherein the principals of drag and lift are utilised to accelerate the fluid flow around aerofoil bodies creating energy harvest reservoirs larger than the frontal area of the bodies and significantly extending the area of mid-field fluid flow.
Wherein the prevailing fluid flow (wind) contouring around multi-element inlet aerofoil bodies and a multi-element outlet aerofoil bodies form a series of high to low static pressure fluid zones, contained fluid momentum zones, fluid kinetic energy transfer zones, barrier fluid zones of higher kinetic energy, and low fluid on fluid friction zones, inducing internal fluid flow from a windward high static pressure gradient into DWT inlets, through multi-element scoop concentrators, through an energy harvester, through a duct, through venturi slots to the DWT outlets at the low static pressure gradients at the sides of a multi-element outlet aerofoil bodies, past the multi-element outlet aerofoil body leeward edges, around outlet vortex fluid flows, continuing leeward at the centreline of the multi-element outlet aerofoil bodies through the leeward high static pressure gradients. Wherein the internal fluid flow path between the DWT inlets and the DWT outlets being optimised for dynamic pressure. Wherein aerofoil profiles, venturis, vortices, and dynamic pressure optimisation restricts the internal fluid flow from bypassing the DWT inlets, significantly mitigates flow separation, significantly improves internal fluid flow kinetic energy, and reduces the windward to leeward material usage of the aerofoil bodies thus increasing performance and reducing cost. Wherein the output from the energy harvester is available for utilisation, either by way of direct power generation electromagnetic winding radial arrays, electrical generators, or through a direct mechanical connection (drive shaft).

ABSTRACT
A wind powered generator comprising; a mast having a plurality of tower outlets positioned along on a low pressure portion of a length of the mast; one or more inlets positioned on a high pressure portion of the mast; an internal fluid flow path between the inlet and the tower outlets; a turbine in the fluid flow path; wherein the inlet and tower outlets are arranged such that wind creates air flow through the fluid flow path for motivating a turbine.
